Owners Malcolm & Donna Zanca Malcolm Zanca is the President and owner of Harley-Davidson/Buell of Baton Rouge. He has been a Harley dealer since 1975 when he and his dad, Vincent, acquired Harley-Davidson as part of their small motorcycle shop – Hammond Suzuki in Hammond, LA. Mr. Zanca and Malcolm ran the business together, Malcolm as Service Manager and lead tech, and Mr. Zanca headed up all other aspects of the business. Opportunity knocked in 1980 when the Baton Rouge dealership went up for sale. Mr. Zanca purchased the dealership and moved the operation to Baton Rouge on Main Street.
The dealership opened a new facility on Harrell’s Ferry Road in July 1981 where it was expanded and remodeled twice. Mr. Zanca retired from the business because of declining health and Malcolm took over operation of the business.
Donna Zanca taught school in Ponchatoula while working with Malcolm on weekends, holidays, and summer vacations. She assisted in all aspects of the business.
As the business grew, it was time to relocate to a larger facility to meet the demands of the changing market. Donna retired from teaching after 20 years and began to work fulltime in 1994, and they moved to Baton Rouge. The new 40,000 sq.ft. facility on Siegen Lane opened its doors in November of 2000. Malcolm has recently served on Harley-Davidson’s National Dealer Advisory Council as its President. He also served on the Buell Strategy Committee and Harley-Davidson’s Financial Services Dealer Advisory Council. The passion and dedication to our business and their great staff has earned them the Gold Bar & Shield “Top 25” Dealer Award six times. The strive for excellence has always been Malcolm’s goal in growing the business and making it fun at the same time.

General Manager Ron Gaston was one of the original Region Managers for Harley-Davidson Credit, Ron serviced a 12 state territory in the southeast, as well as North American dealer finance training. Well known throughout the dealer network as “Swampthing,” Ron conducted finance seminars at remote locations as well as Harley-Davidson University DOT Training. Since then he has managed dealerships in several areas of the country. Arriving in Baton Rouge in mid November 2003 for what he claims will be the last frontier. Finance and Insurance Business Manager Cale Guidry is a firm believer that honesty is the best policy. As Business Manager, Cale is a person that will go that extra mile to get a customer on a motorcycle. Cale has been riding motorcycles for 25 years and 22 of those years have been on a Harley-Davidson® bike. Cale got started with the Harley-Davidson product in 1988 when his father opened an after-market shop in his hometown of Thibodaux, LA. In 1999, Cale started working at a Harley-Davidson dealership and joined Harley-Davidson of Baton Rouge in 2001. Cale values the support of his loving wife Shelly of 11 years, and looks forward to family outings with their 2 children. Parts & Inventory Control Manager Robert Edling joined the Harley-Davidson of Baton Rouge Family in 2006 and since then has undergone several transformations. After taking Rider’s Edge to learn how to ride, growing facial hair, and buying his first Harley a 1999 FXDX Dyna Sport Robert just hasn’t been the same. Now, better known as “Biker Bobby” has had his life transformed and he cannot fathom how he has lived his life prior to being a biker with just two wheels separating him from the asphalt. Much has changed with Biker Bobby, but his commitment to customer service, family & friends, and old fashion work ethic and business practices remain the same. Service Manager Dewayne Meek came to us here at Harley-Davidson of Baton Rouge in March 2005, along with his wife Nikki. Prior to joining our family, Dewayne was a Service/Collision manager at Harley-Davidson dealerships in Phoenix, Arizona and Orlando, Florida bringing with him six years of H-D Service and Management experience.
After attending the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Phoenix, Arizona in 1998, Dewayne decided to leave his previous career in the Cardiac Medical Education Field and take his passion for H-D and live it everyday at work, never looking back.
Dewayne’s philosophies are simple when it comes to the Service Department. He wants the customers to feel at home here, taken well care of, and believes to treat every motorcycle like it was his own. He wants the departments customers to feel and know that we are here and will do anything we can to take care of them and their motorcycles and to have them back on the road, riding in the breeze, with a smile on your face as quickly as we can. General Merchandise Manager Courtney Jones has over seventeen years of experience in retail management. Prior to joining Harley-Davidson of Baton Rouge in 1998, Courtney began her career in retail with The Limited Stores, working in Management for ten years. Courtney manages all strategy, planning and buying decisions for Harley-Davidson of Baton Rouge’s Clothing and Collectibles. She loves the challenge of continually re-merchandising the dealership to accommodate the constant flow of new product from the Motor Company. Courtney enjoys enhancing each enthusiasts riding experience by providing genuine Harley-Davidson® MotorClothes® products. On a personal note, Courtney, a native of Virginia, keeps very busy with being a wife, caring for 2 children, and tending to her yellow Lab, Bear. Rider’s Edge®/Rentals Program Manager Greg Robichaux has been riding since 1995 when he purchased his Sportster®. Since that time he and his wife, of 23 years, Deborah have moved up to their own Dyna™ models. Greg started working officially for Harley-Davidson of Baton Rouge in February 2003 bringing with him 18+ years of sales and service experience. Greg is a Life Member of H.O.G.® and is a past officer of the local H.O.G. Chapter as well as serving on the 1998 H.O.G. State Rally Committee. He started out as an Assistant Service Writer and has moved up to be the Rider’s Edge®/Rentals Program Manager.
